November/ December 2010 Meeting
The invocation was given by Jerry Whitlow as we started the meeting with the meal first.
Jim Frazier called the meeting to order.
Darlene bridges read the October Minutes. Andy Hunter made a motion to accept as read. Dan Mershon 2nd, motion passed.
Dan Mershon gave the Treasurer’s Report. The current club account balance is $15,296.89. That is a decrease from the October 7th report. There were 2 major expenses this month. Accountant was paid $250 for additional paperwork as a result of our acquiring tax exempt status. The printing of the raffle tickets was $123.92. Andy Hunter made a motion to accept as given. Laura Bodenheimer 2nd. Motion passed.
Dan also reported that the Fall Spooktacular show actually made $216.00. There were 49 horses in 64 combinations. The show cost $1,746.89. It brought in, including class sponsorships & silent auction totals, $1,963.74. Big thanks go out to everyone who supported the show!
The deadline is fast approaching for the bids for our 2011-2012 calendar. Money & bids need to be in by January 15. The artwork is due by February 15. We only have 6 spots of the 18 confirmed already. You do not have to be a club member to participate in the calendar! It is a great opportunity to showcase your farm or your horses. It will be the only printed advertising we do for 2011 & 2012. The calendars will be handed out at many venues throughout the year.
The Farm ads for the Journal & Miniature Horse World magazines are due asap. It is a good way to be exposed in 2 magazines 6 times a year for one price! You must be a club member to participate.
Laura Bodenheimer has the raffle tickets for a set of Double K Clippers. They are one for $5 or 3 for $10. If you want some tickets email Laura at goldenbfarms@yahoo.com.
We would like for you to be thinking of other fundraising ideas to keep our club balance from continuing to decline.
Prior nominations for club officers included all the current officers. The floor was opened for nominations. None were made at that time. Bobby Bridges made a motion to close nominations. Andy Hunter 2nd. 18 members voting voted to keep all the current officers for the 2011 year.
Bobby Bridges made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Dan Mershon 2nd. We did so and continued on with our Dirty Santa game!
