Minutes of the ECMHC meeting, March 3, 2010 at Ryan’s, Salisbury, NC
The meeting was called to order at 11:10 am by Jim Frazier, President.
Laura Bodenheimer read the minutes from the February meeting, Trish Coffman made a Motion to Accept as Written/Read and Bobby Bridges seconded. The Motion carried and the minutes were accepted.
Dan Mershon provided the Treasurer’s Report. Current Balance $17,260.26. Expenditures: $4483.00
Paid out : $1750.00, deposit for the Arena for the Performance Classic in June, 2010.
$1587.00 Spring Fling 2010 programs, 499 copies
$1268.00 Laura Mullen, preparation for Spring Fling 2010
Trish Coffman made a Motion to Accept, Bobby Bridges seconded and the report was accepted.
Old Business
Spring Fling 2010 final preparations :
The Exhibitors Party and Breakfast have been paid for. Received $1050.00, thanks to the additional generosity of club members and the original sponsors of Bill Black Chevrolet Cadillac/Featherlite, Greensboro, NC and the Hampton Inn, Williamston, NC.
Center Ring decorations have been taken care of by Bobby Bridges. Plants will be delivered and he and Craig Bodenheimer will put out the pine needles and arrange plants as needed. .
Darlene/Bobby Bridges will arrange for furniture rental for the Judges area in Center Ring.
Judges Basket/Hospitality Committee: Terri Young, Patti Neinast and Teresa Plemmons will provide. Any donations will be accepted.
Exhibitors Parties (pizza) will be held during the Liberty classes on Thursday and Saturday nights, Cherie Mandarino, Sheryl Owen and Judith Powell will be out hostesses. Mary Frazier has confirmed that the pizza will be delivered on those evenings.
Breakfast will be provided on Friday and Sunday mornings. Mary and Jim Frazier will purchase paper goods and condiments. On Friday morning, Craig B and Laura B will provide and serve the fruit, muffins and other goodies. Still need a volunteer or 2 for Sunday morning. Melinda Dean has offered to help.
Silent Auction will be awesome, Justine Melvin is cleaning out her storage building and there should be 100’s of items. She and Lori Osborn have agreed to be in charge.
Awards are ordered and ready, the Bob Berg buckles should be awesome.
Oak Ridge Horse Show, Easter Weekend, 2010 is Saturday April 3 at the Steeple Hill Farm, Summerfield, NC. Open to any Miniature Horse 38” and under, the horse can be registered or not.
Deposit has been paid for the arena for the Performance Classic, June 2010 in Archdale, NC. The AMHR sanctioned show is scheduled for Saturday, June 19 and and the AMHA sanctioned show is Sunday June 20.
The Miniature Fair will be on May 15, 2010 at the Green Creek Farm, Columbus, NC. Still need some volunteers to provide instruction and field questions. Mary Frazier passed the sign up sheet. All members are invited to bring a farm display, brochures and/or advertisements. Hot Dog Lunch will be provided by the club, donations are accepted and and dessert items are needed.
New Business:
Teresa Plemmons discussed the NC State Fair Miniature Horse Show. It is not currently a sanctioned show and there is an effort being made to improve the class list, stalls, etc so as to make it more user friendly.
There will be no meeting in April because of the Spring Fling Horse show.
