February 2010 Meeting
Jim Frazier called the meeting to order
Andy Hunter gave the Invocation
Darlene Bridges read the minutes from the January meeting. Andy Hunter made a motion to accept as read, Mary Frazier 2nd , motion passed.
Dan Mershon gave the Treasurer’s Report. There is an increase of $1794.71 from the January report. The total in the club account is $21,743.26. Main expenses have been $695 for clubs insurance for 2010 and $1098 for Spring Fling awards and prizes. The sanction fees for the performance show have been paid Amha $50 and AMHR $70. Darlene Bridges made a motion to accept as read, Jim Frazier 2nd, motion passed.
The Spring Fling was discussed. The entry deadline is March 27th. Teresa Plemmons asked if we had sponsors for the exhibitor pizza parties and breakfasts. Bill Black Featherlite dealership is sponsoring $500 towards these. The rest needs to be paid for by other sponsorships. The following have agreed to donate toward the exhibitor parties; Jim & Mary Frazier, Andy & Lucia Hunter, Justine Melvin, Jeff & Connie Brown, Cherie Paspas, Ronnie & Janet Clifton, Cheryl Owen, and Trish Coffman. Many thanks goes out to all who are willing to support the club and exhibitors in this way.
The following will put out shavings and help folks find their stalls; Bobby Bridges, Jim Frazier, Craig Bodenheimer, and Andy Hunter.
The club program is ready to go. The centerfold will display the show class lists. We will make sure that there are separate class lists available in the show office.
The center ring will be decorated with pine needles & greenery as in the past. We will rent furniture for the judges in center ring as well.
The show photographer will be Maggie Kaleneck.
Justine Melvin is donating lots of items for the silent auction. Please bring any items of interest to help support the ECMHC.
The ECMHC Performance show will have 80 stalls available with another 35 if we need them. The contract with the facility has been signed. The café will be opened. Davis Feed & Supply will be bringing the shavings.
The May Clinic at Jeff & Connie Brown’s will be May 15th. The club will provide hot dogs and drinks for this event. Please contact Mary Frazier at blueblazes@windstream.net if you would like to offer your expertise.
New Business
Darlene Bridges mentioned the possiblilty of combining the club calendar and program into one publication Bobby Bridges made a motion to study this, Trish Coffman 2nd, motion passed. If you have any ideas send them to blazen2@msn.com.
The next meeting will be March 13 at Ryans in Salisbury.
