Old Business
Thank you to the following for their support of the Raleigh Show:
Russ & Judy Roberts, Debbie VanTine, Scott Thacker, Darlene & Bobby Bridges, Teresa & Butch Wyatt, Steve & Lori Osborne, and Sheryl Owen.
We really do appreciate your support!
A special thanks to Russ & Judy Roberts for providing the hospitality area!
The show was an obvious success in comparison to last year. The show committee has asked Laura Mullen to get together some projected costs for us in planning for the show in 2012. We have sent notice to the State Fair facility that we would like to keep our same date, and possibly ad a day to our show schedule. The rate schedule is below.
Laura said that the outdoor facility was adequate and the little office very accessible to exhibitors. This is a big cost savings as the arena is only $600 a day if we are sharing.
The show committee & Laura Mullen are working on a class list that would also add halter classes. Even though this was originally a Performance Only concept show, we feel that adding halter classes would allow for the performance horses to be more rested, and bring in more horses and thus allow us to make money on the show, not just barely squeaking by. In our deliberations on this subject, we do not feel the need to have a show with as many classes as the Spring Fling. This would enable our club members to possibly qualify all their horses in NC if they so choose.
The Raleigh area has the potential to draw exhibitors that are currently only showing their minis in non- rated open shows, in the Eastern part of our state.
Again, the committee feels bad that our date is so close to the Fletcher show date; however we have had lots of trouble finding a facility with “any” date available. Some exhibitors said that it was, ok because they could go ahead and show the next weekend as their horses would already be clipped.

It has recently been brought to our attention that the State Fair will not be having a sanctioned Miniature Horse Show in 2011, but has opted to return to an open show format. We are not in support of this decision & will forward the facility’s email contact information so we as members can voice our perspective. Ray Frost ( ray.frost@ncagr.gov ) & Sheri Bridges ( sheri.bridges@ncagr.gov ).

All the pertinent information will be posted on the club website and listed as an “Event “on Face book soon. We are looking forward to having a great time as always!
