The Raffle for the Double K clippers made $177.49. The Patty Cloke clinic made $261.67, including the $500 reimbursement from AMHA. Jean Haines made a motion to accept as given. Russ Roberts 2nd, motion passed.
In a brief overview of the Spring Fling we saw 160 AMHR horses, and 121 AMHA horses.
In 2010 we used 266 stalls. In 2011 we used 287.
2010 shavings 395, 2011 – 416.
The 2010 final profit was $1470.18.
The 2011 profit was $1653.29.
Note: The club needs roughly $15,000 in the account at all times as operating capital.
Old Business:
The Millie Smiley Sportsmanship Award was discussed. The members present expressed some concerns as to what criteria the Judges have in picking the recipient of this award. Jean Haines made a motion that the show officials & office staff be included in this determination. Sheryl Owen 2nd, motion passed. The general consensus was that this would give a better overall review of the show participant’s attitudes throughout the show. The Show Committee had previously determined that this award would be awarded to exhibitors only one time.
Elizabeth Osborne won the ECMHC Youth t-shirt contest.
The Patty Cloke Clinic was a success. We’d like to thank Barbara Bemelen for donating to the Clinic without even being a participant.
New Business:
The Performance Show is on target. Shavings will be available, camper spots are available & there are shower facilities at the facility as well. This is our 2nd year with the show & we are at a different facility, the Jim Hunt Horse Complex in Raleigh, NC. We will be sharing the show grounds with an Arabian Show. Our show will take place in the outside covered arena.
Lori Osborne & East Coast Miniature Tack will be present as a vendor.
Thacker Stables will again be providing a Hospitality Stall area. It will be in the end outside stall in the barn closest to the arena.
Joe Manderino made a motion to adjourn, Jean Haines 2nd & we did.
