February Meeting Minutes
Jim Frazier called the meeting to order
Ray Matthews gave the invocation
Darlene Bridges read the minutes from the last meeting. Ray Matthews made a motion to accept as read, Dan Mershon 2nd, motion passed.
Dan Mershon gave the Treasurer’s report. The club account is up $4000 from the last report. Sponsorship monies as well as club membership renewals are responsible for the increase. Darlene Bridges made a motion to accept, David Porterfield 2nd, motion passed.
Old Business
Membership renewals are coming in. Thanks to all who have already renewed.
Spring Fling Show
Thacker Stables will take care of the entire hospitality area, including the stall and all the items to be given away.
Aubrey Overchash is doing a great job of getting class sponsorships. So far he has 182 classes confirmed as sponsored. That’s about ¼ of all the classes. The sponsorships are very affordable, $10 each for regular classes, do 5 get 1 free! $50 for Grand & Reserve classes, $100 for Champion of Champions & Supreme classes. We really need to sponsor as many classes as possible as the show will be Webcast this year, at a cost to us of $2620.
Laura Bodenheimer reported that 70 Raffle tickets for the Double K clippers have been sold out of 500. She will have them available at the Patty Cloke Clinic and the Mt Airy Miniature Horse Sale. Please buy some or take some to sell. Winner does not have to be present to win.
We will once again offer a Silent Auction at the show. Please bring any horsey or non- horsey items you would like to donate. Last year , thanks to Justine Melvin we even had an exercise machine! This is a great opportunity for “Free Money” for ECMHC!
Club Calendar: All 18 months have been sold so the ECMHC 18 Month Calendar is a definite go! Thanks to all the individuals and farms that participated!
March 26 & 27 we will host a Patty Cloke Clinic at Piedmont Saddle Club in Colfax,NC. The Facility gave us a reduced rate of $400 a day to have this 2-day event. In a discussion of fees, David Porterfield made a motion to give an additional discount for those bringing additional horses, of $25. Russ Roberts 2nd, motion passed. Fees are as follows:
ECMHC Member Audit ………………. 1 Day $25.00 /2Days $40.00
ECMHC Member With Horse………….1Day $75.00 /2 Days $125.00
Non Member Audit…………………….1 Day $40.00/2 Days $60.00
Non Member With Horse………………1Day $100.00/ 2 Days $150.00

One adult who brings participating youth ……Free
There will be a limit of one horse per session at the above cost.(ie. Jumping, drivng, obstacle session)
Additional horse per session, and /or per household ……………$25.00 Discount
2011 AMHA amateur cardholders to audit for free or allow discount with horse equivalent to auditing fee. 2011 AMHA Amateur Cards MUST be presented at Clinic for you to receive this discount.

Shavings are not available, you must bring your own.

Anyone who wishes to participate in the EOY Awards “MUST” be a paid up member and “MUST” submit the following info to Dan Mershon (dmersh01@windstream.net) before the first “ECMHC Circuit” show:
- Persons name
- Group showing in (12 & under, 13 to 18, amateur)
- Horses barn name
- Horses registered name
- Is horse a stallion, gelding, or mare

To reward and acknowledge the horse and club member that achieves the most points on our club circuit

*Halter Stallions A and B
*Halter Geldings A and B
*Halter Mares A and B
~Solid and Multi-Color classes are considered halter classes
*Performance A and B
~Any performance class counts including Halter Obstacle, Versatility, and Liberty. Horses are NOT allowed to earn points in Country Pleasure driving and Single Pleasure driving at the same show. It is your responsibility to tell the chair which results you want to use.
*All-Around A and B
~At least 30% of the points must be halter and at least 30% of the points must be performance
*Amateur A and B
*Youth 12 & under A and B
*Youth 13-18 A and B
~Exhibitor must meet all requirements of AMHA and AMHR. Points may be earned in any class which the exhibitor shows the horse. The award will be given for a one-horse/one-exhibitor combination.

~Rules and Guidelines~
1. ELIGIBILITY
A. The owner, amateur, or youth must be a paid member in good standing
with the ECMHC
B. It will be the responsibility of the owner to pay club dues PRIOR to the
first show of the circuit (ECMHC Spring Fling) NOTE: Date of this show is April 14th thru 17th.
2. HORSE OWNERSHIP
A. Amateurs may lease horses. If leased, a lease agreement must be on file with AMHA or AMHR. B. Points are non-transferable
3. SCORING OF POINTS
A. In the event of a tie in any division, the tie will be broken by, declaring as the winner, the horse or member who won the highest number of points at our ECMHC Spring Fling, showing in that division.
4. AWARDS
A. Announcement of the winners will be at the annual Christmas party/meeting.
B. Awards will be presented for Grand and Reserve Grand Champion in each division.
C. If any dispute should arise, the decision of the awards committee will be final.
